Our Vision
Robots that empower people
Robots must be a universal tool: accessible, affordable, and built to strengthen our humanity.
We are in the middle of a robotics revolution. Generalist Embodied AI models can manipulate novel objects in open-world settings on different embodiments. Zero-shot manipulation from language instructions is becoming a reality. This level of general-purpose dexterity was considered to be decades away not long ago. But cheap hardware, massive datasets and end-to-end learning compressed the timeline.
General-purpose dexterity is the engine for scale. It makes robots useful across many domains, driving adoption. Adoption attracts investment, accelerates hardware innovation, and pushes costs lower. Cheaper hardware expands the range of viable applications, creating even more demand. Embodied AI running on inexpensive robotic hardware is about to enter new domains: logistics, healthcare, light manufacturing, hospitality, and more.
General-purpose robots will drive abundance, expanding access to physical labor, accelerating productivity across industries and reshaping how we work, live, and create. From manufacturing and agriculture to healthcare and home assistance, these robots will seamlessly support human needs across every sector.
Robotics will upend the economies of physical labor, resulting in a profound and rapid societal shift. While incredibly exciting and ultimately beneficial, this shift could also be very painful. As Embodied AI becomes a pervasive infrastructure layer, it has the potential to replace people faster than society can adapt.
The robotic revolution should benefit everyone. The future of robotics must not be solely about automation and efficiency, but rather about creating a more just society, where robots are available and useful to everyone, improving lives and boosting our humanity. We are pioneering this transformation by broadening and simplifying access to cutting-edge Embodied AI, and making it available on any hardware.
